Aspects of Cottingham
|
|
|

Cottingham is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is
reputedly the largest village in England, and is situated
midway between the city of Kingston Upon Hull and the market
town of Beverley.
Cottingham is a very picturesque village, with its own
shopping centre and local facilities. It has quite a bustling,
vibrant community, which is perhaps unsurprising given its
size and population. It's on a main rail route, so is easy to
get to from Hull.
Skidby windmill is a great place to visit. Pick your day
correctly, and you can see it working and buy a bag of flour!
It's just outside Cottingham.
There's lots to see and do locally, and there are some fine
public houses with good food on the menu. And you're sure to
find some friendly folk. Why not pay us a visit and see for
yourself?

Heavy rain didn't stop hundreds of visitors to this years Cottingham Day. The day started with a parade representing local community groups, children in fancy dress, local fottball team, cheer leaders and Guides and Brownies. The regular vintage car rally was held and Scottish Pipers played their bagpipes. Live music was aided by KCFM, Theatre workshops, stalls and a number of performing arts helped to entertain the damp audience who kept their spirits up despite the inclement weather. Tina White of Cottingham Parish Council said " I'd like to thank everyone for turning up and also the sponsors. Without them, Cottingham Day wouldn't exist." |
